Hi,
I want to apply for Green Card in EB2 Category through my employee. But I already have a green card in process via my spouse's employee in EB3 Category.
1. So will I be able to get the priority date of the green card process which is in EB3 Category? -- NO
2. Can I add my spouse in my EB2 visa process? -- YES
3. What are risks involved, if any? -- Risk is the same for anyone, just like the one your spouse took.
Many Thanks

So, a controlled slow movement will leave to more un-used numbers in the 3rd quarter when they will then be forced to make big jumps in dates to use up annual visa numbers

Great Work
Guys,
I just created a search engine (http://immisearch.blogspot.com/) to help all people looking for a better way to search topics around immigration related activites. The search engine came as a result of my countless hours that I spent searching to answers around the web.
Try searching for any information with h1b, h4, Green Card, I-485, I140, citizenship etc, and the engine should give you a better result.
Leave a comment at the blog and let me know what else could be improved.

Also find out what people are saying at other threads..

Hi,
My mom is scheduled for an interview for a visitor visa at US Consulate, Chennai. My mom is 70 years old and she will be the only person attending for the interview. She has not travelled a lot and she will not be able to figure out everything that is needed inside the consulate before and after the interview by herself. Now - my question is - Can my mom take anyone (say a relative) with her inside the consulate for help?
Appreciate your help!
No, she cannot carry anyone else except herself inside the consulate. A relative can accompany her till she enters the consulate and your mother can ask for a translator and I am sure there would be people to help her, otherwise too.
But as far as someone accomanying her inside the consulate, NO,
And just in case, even if the relative is able to get in with her, it is not advisable to do so.

Hi All,
Joined California based consulting company in mid 2006, got project in Maryland(MD). Worked in Maryland but CA company ran payroll on CA address. I have LCA for Maryland. End of year,2006 filed tax filing with CA state.
Project went till February,2008 they are running my pay stubs,W2 with CA address. I filed CA tax returns for year 2007 but stayed in Maryland.
Now my questions is Im present in Maryland(LCA) but pay stubs,W2 are showing CA address. In demographic information form(g-325) which I address I need to use. Should I go with physical address(Maryland) or W2 address(CA).
I have no idea how to go about this, can you please advice how to present my case.
Thanks,
Sampath.

I am in the same boat. Filed July 19th . As of Last Friday not in the system.
No checks cleared. All the guys who filed with me got their receipt last week from Texas. I am the only one remaining. My I140 was approved from NSC.

Does anyone know if there would be some kind of record about
when and how many times we have spoken to the IIO.
Like will a IIO be able to look at one's receipt# and say if they have spoken to an IIO earlier that day or whenever that is?
Thank you.

I filed my 485 application at TSC at the beginning of August, still did not get any receipt number, neither are the checks cashed.
Any idea how long USCIS/TSC is taking these days to issue a receipt or cash the checks?
Thanks

hi,
I am planning to extend the visitor visa for my mom for another two months.
Her current I94 expires on June 25th and At POE the officer told her that she must go back after 6 months.
If I apply for extension of her visa and in case she does not get any result before current I-94 expiry date, is it wise to stay on or leave US in order to avoid overstays?
2.What happens if she gets a rejection before her current I94 expiry, will she need leave earlier and apply for new visitor visa?
Appreciate your answers
Thanks

From Politico: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi wants to push for a vote during the lame-duck session on a bill that would legalize young, undocumented immigrants if they attend college or serve in the military, according to Democratic sources familiar with a leadership conference call Wednesday. A vote on the bill, known as the DREAM Act, could come as early as next week, the sources said. Pelosi asked Rep. George Miller (D-Calif.) and Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-Calif.) to assess the mood of the caucus, according to one source. The vote on DREAM is probably easier in the Lame Duck House given...
