Don't wanna jinx anything, but living in New Orleans, we almost always seem to be under the national average when it comes to gas prices - paid $3.49/gal yesterday at Sam's Club. Shell tends to be more expensive, holding around $3.75/gal right now.
I can't even *imagine* living in California with the prices creeping towards $5/gal... :eek:

That is helpful for syncing with itunes - but what about ical/outlook? Can I get outlook to sync with my 7 different calendars on ical?

Knowing Apple there will be a way to turn it off in the OS if you don't want to use it. Also for the totally paranoid, a mod to remove the hardware from your iPhone will hit the web the week it is on the street.
Also, I bet the hardware will be laid out where removing a pair or surface mount resistors will make it that simple to disable separating the antenna from the semiconductor.

What I'm trying to do is understand your logic. The reason I'm summarizing your position is because I want to avoid misrepresenting you before I go on to explain my own point of view. Please show me where I misrepresented you. This isn't a political debate. I am only asking questions because I actually want to know the answers, not because I'm trying to "win". I don't get what's the problem with Garmin's view. Garmin decided to go live and have upto date maps and traffic alert. I can imagine they also have some sort of cash so you only have to d/l the map once and then it lives in your iphone. It also has an amazingly small footprint - weighs in at only 8mb and this is another cool feature of the program!
Besides, none said you cant have garmin for live updates and news + navigon or tomtom as a standalone gps.
I like Garmin's approach, wish they make it for Europe as well

I seem to remember a rumour not long after the iPad 2 event that iPhone 5 would be delayed until late summer / autumn. Perhaps all these rumours are falling into place and we won't see iPhone 5 until after the summer.

Actually, cards larger than both CDs and DVDs are already available. Average CD is 700 MB, DVD is 4.7 GB (8.5 GB for double-layer), Blu-Ray at 25 and 50 GB. Max capacity now is 64GB as mentioned elsewhere in this thread. The electronics and office supply stores routinely advertise 8GB cards for $20...
Ooops, that was a silly mistake. Of course you're right, I mixed my Gs and Ms up in mind when comparing CDs to the 64Gb card. My Bad. :)

They have every right to sue if Apple violated their patent. They invented the technology and decided to protect it, period.
If Apple indeed violated the patent that is true, if the patent itself is valid under the law.
You'd be royally pissed if Microsoft came out with the mPhone which looked and felt exactly like an iPhone...parents exist for a very good reason.

There are two things going on here, that are very different:
Apple cannot own the word "pod." Sorry guys, you built your brand on a regular 'ol common word. Apple derived a benefit from using an existing word as part of their product name and they can't just turn that around and take the whole damn word for themselves. They could have called it the "iKerbock" you know, and they'd now own "kerbock." But then, they wouldn't have sold as many iKerbocks as iPods, I'd bet.
However, iPod is Apple's word and they should clearly be able to stop people from using it, especially in an mp3 playing context.

What are people mainly using the Push for? I certainly wouldn't want to be updated every time one of my friends posts on Facebook... I know there are different settings - just wondering what kind of updates people use this for.
I don't get all the confusion people are having...
The push notifications just push your facebook.com notifications... the little red numbers at the bottom right of the screen. Those, including new messages in your inbox and event invites (which don't show up as badges because they don't show up as little red notifications in facebook.com to begin with.)
You don't receive a facebook.com notification whenever one of your hundreds of friends updates there status, so you won't receive a push notification on the facebook app either.
